Women with endometriosis often feel alone in their suffering as it is frustrating to have a disease that few people are aware of, or want to discuss. Women with endometriosis are further hindered because the disease is not recognized in the media. Endometriosis can cause trouble with every aspect a woman’s life, from relationships, work, and every day activities as the pain can interfere with living life to the fullest.

Misconceptions about endometriosis still continue today, so education is critical. Screening for endometriosis should be done if a mother or sister has been diagnosed with endometriosis or if there are problems with conceiving after trying for 1 year.
